Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti affirmed that the celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival at the Opera Theatre in the City of Culture offered a real opportunity for the Tunisian audience to virtually 'travel' to China through harmonious artistic performances that combined both artistic and theatrical dimensions.
According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the minister stated that this cultural evening provided an important space for cultural exchange between Tunisia and China. He highlighted that Tunisia's selection to host such events reflects its position as a gateway to Africa, and a portal to the Mediterranean and, from there, to the Middle East, in a context where the Silk Road extends across Africa.
Nafti noted that the performance offered a glimpse of China's cultural and heritage wealth, blended with a touch of modernity, reflecting the richness of Chinese civilization. He added that Tunisian-Chinese relations are very strong and are witnessing notable development in various fields, especially economic, commercial, cultural, and artistic, stressing that joint projects between the two countries are a clear testament to the solidity of these ties.
In a related context, the minister discussed Arab-Chinese relations, noting that China has chosen to be a friend to the Arab world, a choice welcomed by both the Arab League and Arab states. He expressed his belief that the Arab-Chinese summit represents an additional milestone for strengthening cooperation between both sides and achieving a shared understanding of current challenges, particularly regarding the Middle East and the Palestinian issue.
He emphasized that the cultural bridge remains a key element in fostering closer ties between peoples, alongside the economic and artistic projects implemented by China worldwide and in the Arab and African regions, which contribute to consolidating friendship and cooperation between China and Arab countries, and specifically between Tunisia and China.
