AU delegation visits Manouba social centre for child observation, commends accommodation conditions of sub-Saharan children

A delegation of the African Union (AU) on Friday paid a visit to the Manouba Social Centre for Child Observation and expressed satisfaction at the treatment and accommodation conditions of sub-Saharan African children living there.

The delegation underlined that the treatment and accommodation conditions of these sub-Saharan African children testify to Tunisia’s compliance with international treaties and covenants on child protection and to the depth of fraternal ties binding African countries.

The delegation, led by AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security Bankole Adeoye and Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development Minata Samaté, reiterated the AU’s support for Tunisia in all fields as an African country that fosters close relations based on respect and fraternity with all countries.

The delegation got an insight into the housing conditions of sub-Saharan African children placed in the Social Assistance Centre in Tunis, and the services provided to ensure that they are well cared for.
