Drone Strike from Lebanon Injures Two in Northern Israel

Tel aviv: Two people were injured in northern Israel following a drone strike originating from Lebanon, Israeli media reported. The incident occurred on Tuesday when a drone struck a vehicle in the Misgav area, close to Israel's border with Lebanon.

According to Anadolu Agency, the public broadcaster KAN reported the injuries, while The Times of Israel, citing the Israeli army, claimed the drone was launched by Hezbollah. It reportedly struck Israeli territory near the border. The Israeli military has yet to release detailed information regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.

On Monday, Hezbollah announced that it had carried out 11 drone and missile attacks targeting Israeli troops and military vehicles in southern Lebanon and northern Israel. These actions were described as a response to Israeli violations of an ongoing ceasefire.

Hezbollah's use of drones has increasingly concerned Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu highlighting them as a major threat. He has urged the military to develop solutions to counter these drone incursions.

The tensions arise amidst accusations of Israel violating a US-mediated ceasefire, which was announced on April 17 and extended until early July. Since March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in at least 3,020 deaths, 9,273 injuries, and the displacement of over 1.6 million people, accounting for about one-fifth of Lebanon's population, according to Lebanese officials.
