On the sidelines of this second ministerial meeting, Mr. Bourita held talks with his counterparts from France, Jean-Yves Le Drian, Belgium, Sophie Wilmès, Portugal, Augusto Santos Silva, Denmark, Jeppe Kofod, Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, Malta, Evarist Bartolo, Mauritania, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Gambia, Mamadou Tangara, Senegal, Aïssata Tall Sall and Zambia, Stanley Kakubo.
He also met with Comorian minister, Dhoihir Dhoulkamal, Benin’s minister Aurélien Agbénonci, Togolese minister Robert Dussey, Somali minister Mohamed Abdirizak, South Sudanese minister Mayiik Ayii deng, Liberian minister Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sierra Leonean minister David Francis and Central African minister Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, as well as with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell.
The prospects of bilateral cooperation as well as common challenges were at the heart of talks between Bourita and his African and European counterparts.
This 2nd meeting is co-hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Christophe Lutundula, whose country currently chairs the AU, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell.
