Jamdede Chief Refutes Allegations of Selling Police Lands

Jamdede: Nana Boakye Agyei II, the Chief of Jamdede in the Berekum West Municipality of the Bono Region, denied his involvement in the sale of lands designated for the Berekum Divisional Police Command.

According to Ghana News Agency, some natives of Jamdede, a farming town, have raised concerns about the sale of the 10-acre land allocated by the community for the construction of a Police headquarters in the area. They have alleged the chief’s involvement in the sale of portions of the land. Estate developers have encroached on portions and started putting up unauthorized structures and buildings on the land.

However, addressing a news conference in the town, Nana Agyei II insisted he had no knowledge about the sale of the land and called for investigations to bring the perpetrators to book. The chief expressed his concerns about the condition of the police personnel posted there, highlighting that they did not have accommodation, which impeded their work. He emphasized the importance of providing them with accommodation and offices to enhance their operations.

Nana Agyei II also expressed concern about the deplorable roads in the area and called on the government to improve them to facilitate the movements of the people and their economic activities.
