Keta: Mr Kenneth Kpedor, the Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO), has reiterated the Association's commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance in managing school-related projects.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Kpedor spoke about the Association's dedication to student welfare during an interview at the thanksgiving ceremony marking the school's 72nd Anniversary. He emphasized the PTA's structured approach to project selection and financial oversight, noting that all decisions are made collectively with parental involvement in general meetings.
Mr Kpedor highlighted the achievements of the Association, which include extended classes to provide additional academic support, campus fumigation to ensure a hygienic environment, and renovation of the House Five Girls' Hostel to improve residential security. Additionally, the PTA converted a dormitory into a residential facility for the House Mistress and donated 67 three-in-one student beds to address accommodation needs.
The PTA also organized seminars for staff and students to promote transformational leadership mentoring. Mr Kpedor assured parents that these projects were executed with strict financial discipline and governance principles. He emphasized the importance of investing in student leadership and character development, arguing that the long-term benefits of these programs far outweigh their costs.
Mr Kpedor touted his administration's performance, asserting its responsibility for KETASCO's PTA actions and decisions. He clarified that his leadership focuses solely on issues related to their school, emphasizing facts, accountability, and transparency. To reinforce this commitment, he assured that the PTA's financial accounts are meticulously audited and will be presented to the General Assembly at the end of the administration's tenure next year.
The PTA Chair urged parents and stakeholders to support the school by providing constructive criticism and encouraged collective action to create the best possible learning environment for students. As Keta Senior High Technical School continues to uphold its legacy of academic excellence, the PTA remains committed to fostering ethical leadership and financial accountability.
