National Library of Tunisia presents digital map at Riyadh International Book Fair

The National Library of Tunisia (BNT) launched the digital map, a unique project in the Arab world, dedicated to Tunisian publishers, printers and authors through the unified international numbering of books and periodicals.

The project is mainly based on a virtual mapping application that provides a global inventory of Tunisian publishers, authors and printers, both in Tunisia and worldwide, Head of the BNT acquisitions department and representative of the Culture Ministry’s pavilion at the Riyadh International Book Fair Sihem Ben Mabrouk explained to TAP, adding that the map includes links to publishers and authors.

”We have come to the Riyadh International Book Fair to present the digital map project and the new platform project for the National Library of Tunisia, including the virtual library. This platform, which is available on the BNT website, is currently being updated and will be launched very soon. We have identified more than 700 publishers in Tunisia and we are currently checking the continuity of their activity, before making the data available to all,” Ben Mabrouk indicated.

This digital map will help researchers and all those interested in books to search for a publication by title, publishing house or author, while ensuring that all the data relating to the publisher’s publications are available, she pointed out.
