Wamfie: Mr Emmanuel Hinneh, the Dormaa East District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Bono Region, has lauded the government's 'one million coder's programme', calling for the implementation of the policy. Describing the concept of the programme as appropriate, he said the implementation of the coding policy would build and equip youth with the relevant digital skills and enlighten them on technology.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Hinneh highlighted that the initiative has the potential to create thousands of jobs for the youth. In an interview at Wamfie, he urged the government to partner with the private sector, suggesting that an effective public-private partnership would not only spur economic development but also create job opportunities for the youth.
Mr Hinneh pointed out that there are numerous job opportunities in the private sector and encouraged the youth to focus on these areas instead of overly relying on the government for employment. He also emphasized the importance of the youth identifying and building on their talents and called on religious bodies to assist in this regard by offering professional and career counselling.
Additionally, Mr Hinneh expressed concern about the lack of financial support available to young entrepreneurs and urged financial institutions to assist those interested in engaging in small and medium enterprises.
