Interior Minister Kamel Feki asserted on Wednesday that the increasing number of cruise ships proves Tunisia has now become a secure destination, boasting a satisfaction rate of over 80%. While addressing the Assembly of the People's Representatives (ARP) at a dialogue session, the minister elaborated on the recent statistics, revealing that the number of cruises heading to Tunisia has doubled from 22 in 2022 to 46 in 2023. He emphasised that «the country has indeed evolved into a secure and sought-after destination, attracting tourists from diverse nationalities. Feki further stated that the capital (Tunis-Medina, Sidi Bou Said, and Carthage) is expected to play host to over four thousand tourists each week. «Ensuring such services is no easy feat, contrary to what some may believe,» he remarked, highlighting the exceptional efficiency of his department and security units.
