Two Female Suspects in Connection with ‘Pooley’s Murder on GHC600,000 Bail

Sunyani: The Sunyani District Court ‘B’ has granted GHC300,000 bail with two sureties each to two female suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Francis Frimpong, a supporter of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC.

According to Ghana News Agency, the suspects, identified as Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, also known as ‘Akosua Black Chinese’, and Yaa Asantewaa, appeared before the court on Monday. Presided by Judge Eric Daning, the court directed them to report to the police twice every week. The bail conditions also restrict the suspects from traveling outside the Sunyani Municipality without judicial approval during the first 14 days.

The suspects have been charged with ‘abetment to commit crime, to wit murder’ under Sections 20(1) and 46 of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960 (Act 29). They are scheduled to reappear in court on Monday, February 17, 2025. Meanwhile, the court ordered the police to keep two other suspects, Isaac Fosu and Augustine Yeboah, in custody for further investigations.

The incident involved the stabbing death of the deceased, popularly known as ‘Pooley’, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, during a Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC at the Nsoatre Professor Amoah Koromansah II Stadium. The police have so far arrested seven suspects in connection with the crime, including Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman FC, Joseph Kyeremeh, also known as ‘Santos’, and Agyemang Duah Owusu, a police inspector.
