Accra: The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) will host a conference on renewable and energy efficiency this Thursday, May 22, at the Accra International Conference Centre. The event aims to explore policy actions that could lead to affordable energy in Ghana, thereby reducing operational costs, increasing productivity, encouraging investment, and enhancing competitiveness, all of which could positively impact economic growth and make local produce more affordable.
According to Ghana News Agency, the conference is organized under the auspices of AGI's Energy Service Centre (ESC) and will feature a business-to-business (B2B) exhibition. Participation is free and open to commercial and industrial businesses, energy professionals, policymakers, and individuals interested in sustainable energy projects. The event will also include a special forum on upskilling in the private sector and discussions on investment opportunities and innovative solutions in the green energy space.
The conference will be attended by key figures such as the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Mr. Issifu Seidu, and the Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Simone Giger. It will address the theme, 'Powering Ghana's Industry through Sustainable Energy,' with participation from key players in the commercial and industrial sectors.
Mr. Seth Twum-Akwaboah, Chief Executive Officer of AGI, stated that the event will showcase innovative technologies, financing options, and best practices that could help businesses reduce energy costs and improve operational efficiency. He emphasized that the B2B Expo is a response to the growing demand for sustainable and affordable energy solutions in Ghana's private sector. The platform will enable businesses to explore cost-saving energy solutions, build strategic partnerships, and engage with project developers, consultants, and financiers.
Mr. Twum-Akwaboah highlighted AGI-ESC's commitment to promoting Ghana's energy transition and supporting industries in adopting cleaner, more efficient technologies. He encouraged stakeholders to patronize the event.
