TAKORADI: ‘Tadi Carnival,’ a cinematic portrayal of the renowned Masquerade Festival in Ghana’s Western Region, is set to debut on Friday, October 25, 2024. The premiere will take place at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi, drawing an audience from various backgrounds to witness the unveiling of this new film project.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Prince Dugbartey, the Executive Producer and Director of Positive Influence Production (PIP) Movie House, expressed enthusiasm for the project. He highlighted the role of their production house in promoting the Masquerade Carnival through storytelling and film. The initiative aims to enhance appreciation for the contributions of Masquerade Clubs and brass band clubs to local economic development in Sekondi-Takoradi.
The Takoradi Masquerade Carnival has become a significant cultural event, attracting people from different demographics. Mr. Dugbartey noted that developing the plot and scenes for the film took three years, emphasizing the importance
of conveying the message effectively. The film features prominent actors such as Too Much of Junka Town Fame, Alaska, and Late Yogot.
Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Western Regional Minister and a proponent of the Masquerade Festival, will attend the premiere as the special guest. The festival is observed annually from December 24 to January 1, serving as a significant cultural fixture in the region.
