Amugo-Vego Traditional Council Convenes to Approve Chiefs and Discuss Development Projects

ANYAKO: The Amugo-Vego Traditional Council in the Keta Municipality of Ghana's Volta Region held an emergency meeting at Anyako 'Dufiafe' to approve chieftaincy declaration forms, aiming to formalize their integration into the Council and address regional development projects. According to Ghana News Agency, the meeting was convened by Tegbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII, 'Dufia' of Anyako Konu and President of the Amugo-Vego Traditional Council. He stated that the gathering not only approved 14 chieftaincy declaration forms, including nine chiefs and five Mamawo, but also served as a platform to discuss development initiatives. The council is taking steps to ensure that all chiefs are gazetted, allowing them to participate in future deliberations. Seven out of the 10 gazetted chiefs attended the meeting, which was focused on addressing urgent issues within the traditional areas. It was noted that only 10 of the 69 chiefs in the jurisdiction are currently gazetted to participate in such meetings. The council is actively working to gazette more chiefs from communities such as Abor, Aborlove-Nolopi, Hatorgodo, Atiavi, Tsiame, and Anlo-Afiadenyigba. Present at the meeting were several council members, including Togbi Akakpo Solaga II, Togbi Agbetsi Zewu IV, Togbi Adzomani II, Togbi Kposegee IV, Togbi Duklui Attipoe V, and Mama Ngogbe. Absent members included Togbi Akaba VII, Togbi Aposa VI, and Togbi Agamatsu IV. Chiefs who attended the meeting expressed their satisfaction and pledged support for Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui's leadership in continuing the council's development efforts.
