Sefwi aboduam: Nana Kwao Awuah II, the Chief of Sefwi Aboduam in the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area of the Western North Region, emphasized the benefits of legal training for traditional leaders in their adjudication roles. He highlighted how such education prevents conflicts and supports community management during an interview. According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Awuah II, who is also the Prampram District Manager at the Electricity Company of Ghana, recently became a member of the Ghana Bar. During the interview, he shared that chiefs, who traditionally oversee community matters, require skills to adjudicate issues effectively. He plans to integrate his new legal knowledge with his traditional insights to better manage conflicts in Sefwi Aboduam. The chief also expressed his motivation for pursuing legal studies was to set a positive example for local youth, encouraging them to value and attain higher education. He noted a concerning trend among the youth in his area, where many do not pursue further edu cation. "Many youths are not pursuing higher education, and that is worrying. So, if, at my age, I am still going to school, I believe I can then use myself properly to encourage them to further their education," he stated. Nana Awuah II, who took on his role as a divisional chief in 2014, undertook his law education at Mountcrest University College in Accra, followed by the Ghana School of Law, leading to his call to the bar on October 11, 2024.
