ACCRA: The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) has entered into a strategic partnership with Boxup to enhance the development of amateur boxing in the country. This collaboration is expected to provide crucial financial and logistical support aimed at discovering and nurturing boxing talents, according to Mr. Mustapha Nettey, Treasurer of the GBF. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Nettey expressed his optimism about the impact of the partnership, highlighting Boxup's commitment to elevating the sport, which has historically been a source of national pride due to Ghanaian boxers' success on the world stage. He referred to the collaboration as a "renaissance of amateur boxing in Ghana," emphasizing that it would bring national pride to the sport. The partnership with Boxup is set to provide not only boxing kits but also technical assistance and financial backing. Mr. Nettey has long advocated for increased support for juvenile and youth boxing from both the government and corporate entities in Ghana. He praised B oxup for spearheading efforts to develop the sport, noting that the organization's recent support enabled Ghana's Black Rockets to participate in the IBA Youth World Tournament in Montenegro. Dr. Stephen Addison, CEO of Boxup, is expected to make a formal announcement regarding the partnership deal in the coming days.
