Nkwanta: A total of 150 young people in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region have been provided with start-up kits under the Business in a Box (BizBox) Project. The initiative, a collaboration between the Mastercard Foundation and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), aims to empower individuals by equipping them with essential tools necessary for self-efficiency and economic growth. According to Ghana News Agency, the distributed items included sewing machines, hair dryers, carpentry tools, baking ovens, gas cylinders, and electrical equipment, which are critical for those planning to establish or expand their businesses. The project is designed to facilitate the establishment of new businesses and support existing ones by providing the necessary equipment to help young entrepreneurs turn their skills into sustainable income. Madam Sherifa Sekyere-Tijani, the Nkwanta South Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasized the significance of utilizing the resources effectively. She urged the recipients to embrace the opportunity, noting that the items were not merely gifts but vital tools for transforming aspirations into reality. Madam Sekyere-Tijani also highlighted the measures implemented by her team to ensure that the items are used for their intended purpose. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support received and committed to making good use of the kits to generate sustainable livelihoods.
