Kwaso: The Kwaso Local Council of Churches, in collaboration with the Kwaso Traditional Council, has initiated a peace campaign to ensure a tranquil environment for the upcoming December general elections. The campaign features a community peace walk and a symposium aimed at encouraging peaceful conduct among the electorate. According to Ghana News Agency, the peace walk saw the participation of hundreds, including clergy, traditional rulers, parliamentary candidates, and supporters from various political parties. The event, as part of the campaign, was designed to foster peace and unity within the Ejisu constituency, emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm before, during, and after the election period. Mr. Samuel Oduro Frimpong, the Ejisu Municipal Chief Executive, highlighted the essential role of peace in community development and urged locals to avoid any actions that could lead to tension or disturbances. Reverend Charles Mpiani, Chairman of the Kwaso Local Council of Churches, reiterated the ca mpaign's goal to remind all community members, supporters, and candidates that they are all part of a unified family, regardless of political affiliation. Nana Osei Fosu Adutwum II, the local chief, praised the church council for their proactive role in peace-building and made a heartfelt appeal to all party supporters to act responsibly to preserve the community's harmony.
