Accra: Over 70 individuals have received awards for their accomplishments in leadership and entrepreneurship at the African Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference/Awards and Peace Summit held in Accra. The inaugural summit aimed to identify and recognize deserving trade counterparts and cross-border investment partners for enterprises and institutions within Africa.
According to Ghana News Agency, the award recipients hailed from various countries, including Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Egypt, and Rwanda, among others. They were selected based on their impact on traditional rule, business, and the financial sector, including banking and financial fraternities across all 54 African States.
Three top awardees, dubbed 'The Titans,' were Mr. Bishoy Fouad, General Manager of Life Care Technology Limited; Prof. Atuahene Boateng, CEO of Medimafo Herbal Hospital; and Lord Kwame Trevor Beckford, CEO of Digital Africa Diaspora Development Services. Other notable awardees included Madam Fidelia Grand-Galon, Suriname Ambassador to Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, who received the Imperial African Achievement Award, and Mr. Peter Quansah Jr, Partner at SB LLP Barristers and Solicitors, who won the Imperial Cross-Border African Award.
Additional honorees included Mr. Bernard Anyan-Mensah, Founder and CEO of CONAK; Mr. Samuel Vasmark Voegborlo, CEO of GENAU Ghana Ltd; Dr. Wanda Evans-Brewer, CEO of Wandalands Naturals; and Royal Majesty Adaigbo Chika Chukwurah, Igbo Mother General and Female Cultural Ambassador of Ndigbo, among others.
In a keynote address, Dr. Stephen Kojo Sackey, UN Goodwill Peace Ambassador, highlighted the role of young entrepreneurs in driving innovation and change, emphasizing the potential for robust investment across the continent. He noted that the challenge of reduced aid presents an opportunity to strengthen local governance, enhance resource mobilization, and build resilient economic structures.
Dr. Sackey advocated for diversifying funding sources and increasing domestic production to secure long-term economic stability. He emphasized the importance of partnerships between the private sector and government to sustain this transformation, urging Africa to harness its talents for sustainable growth.
Ambassador Dr. Paul Boachie-Ansah, Group CEO and Board Chairman of Imperial Leo Network Limited, explained that the conference also aims to inspire and empower the next generation of change-makers across the continent. He stated that the peace summit fosters stability and security, where conflict is resolved peacefully, human rights are respected, and communities can thrive.
The event was not only a celebration of past achievements but also an opportunity to forge new partnerships, create lasting networks, and champion the collaborative spirit that will define Africa's future.
