Hohoe: Over 200 young individuals from the Hohoe Municipality have been equipped with entrepreneurial skills and start-up kits through the Business In A Box (BizBox) Project, a collaborative initiative between the Mastercard Foundation and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA). According to Ghana News Agency, the BizBox Project, which spans four years, aims to create dignified and fulfilling employment for 250,000 youths across Ghana by 2027, with a significant focus on women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). She emphasized that the skills and tools provided would not only benefit the individuals but also their families and communities, contributing positively to the nation's development. "We at the Mastercard Foundation believe that the skills you have acquired and the tools you will receive today will help you pave the way to success as entrepreneurs," said Madam Rwigamba, expressing the foundation's commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable development in Africa. The BizBox Project focuses on five key pillars: Youth Skills Development, Access to Market, Access to Start-up Kits, Youth Social Networks, and Institutional Strengthening, Policy, and Regulatory Support. These pillars are designed to provide a comprehensive support system for young entrepreneurs. During the event, Mr. Seth K. Klutse of the Ghana Enterprise Agency encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the tools effectively, emphasizing their potential to serve them for a lifetime. He advised against selling the tools, urging the youths to focus on building sustainable businesses. Togbe Vule V, representing the Gbi Traditional Area Paramount Chief, praised the initia tive, describing it as a unique project that is significantly contributing to the development of the youth in the region. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and committed to applying the skills and tools received to establish and grow their businesses.
