Enchi: The Lighthouse Chapel International, Enchi branch, recently hosted a thanksgiving service to honor the Aowin Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Stephen Morcher. This gathering was held to express gratitude for divine guidance and protection throughout Mr. Morcher’s nomination, confirmation, and swearing-in as the new MCE.
According to Ghana News Agency, the service was marked by songs of thanksgiving, with the congregation, dressed predominantly in white, dancing in celebration. Bishop Robert Amoako delivered a sermon on the theme ‘For all authority comes from God’, urging those in positions of authority, such as Assemblymen, Pastors, MCEs, Chiefs, MPs, and Ministers, to recognize their roles as divinely appointed and to serve with humility and adherence to spiritual principles.
Bishop Amoako emphasized his message with references from the book of Romans, chapter 13:1-7, encouraging leaders to strive for humility and to act in accordance with spiritual teachings. He also called for peace and unity among political figures and members of the Aowin traditional council to ensure harmonious coexistence and support for the MCE’s vision for the municipality. Additionally, he prayed for divine protection, guidance, strength, and wisdom for Mr. Morcher and his family.
Mr. Stephen Morcher expressed deep gratitude to the church, traditional authorities, and National Democratic Congress (NDC) members for their steadfast support. He pledged to work diligently toward the development of the municipality, addressing major challenges such as poor road networks, youth unemployment, and insufficient educational infrastructure.
The event was attended by heads of departments, traditional authorities, family members, and National Democratic Congress supporters.
