Tourism Ministry Unveils New Advisory Board to Guide Policy and Strategy

Accra: The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has inaugurated its Ministerial Advisory Board, urging members to uphold commitment and diligence in their duties. Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for the sector, emphasized that the Board is mandated to advise the Ministry on policy planning, strategic objectives, and operational direction, while fostering engagement with service users.

According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Gomashie expressed her expectations for the Board, highlighting the importance of appointing knowledgeable and skilled individuals to support the Ministry's mandate. She noted that the Board's role is crucial for the Ministry to achieve its foundational goals and make significant progress for the country. Madam Gomashie underscored the necessity for policy decisions to align with the legal and operational frameworks of the Ministry's 13 overseeing agencies.

She assured the Ministry's reliance on the Board's counsel in navigating institutional challenges, emphasizing collective effort to overcome hurdles and leave a lasting legacy. Deputy Minister Mr. Yussif Jajah reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to inclusive governance, as prescribed by the Civil Service Act.

Dr. Kwesi Eyison, representing the Ghana Tourism Federation, welcomed the Board's inauguration and pledged private sector support through public-private collaboration. Board members include Madam Gomashie, Mr. Jajah, and several representatives from various ministries and organizations, each bringing expertise from their respective fields to guide the Ministry's vision and mission.
