TWMA Supports Nungua Homowo Festival with Donations

Accra: The Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA), spearheaded by its Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Ludwig Teye Totimeh, has taken a significant step in supporting the cultural festivities of the Nungua community by donating essential items for the 2025 annual Homowo festival. The donation included maize, palm oil, Heineken beer, and soft drinks, underscoring the Assembly's commitment to fostering community ties and celebrating local traditions.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Totimeh expressed a deep sense of responsibility and allegiance to the divisional chiefs, promising to heed their advice and work diligently to address the community's needs. He emphasized his readiness to seek guidance from the chiefs whenever faced with challenges, ensuring that he serves the people effectively without bias.

Mr. Totimeh highlighted his commitment to addressing security issues in the municipality, acknowledging the complaints received from the community. He assured the chiefs that measures were underway to enhance security, particularly through the installation of streetlights. The Regional Minister has pledged to provide streetlights to every Municipal Assembly, and Mr. Totimeh is optimistic that Tema West will soon receive its share to illuminate areas vulnerable to criminal activities.

Furthermore, Mr. Totimeh appealed to the chiefs for their prayers and support, emphasizing the importance of integrity among the Assembly staff to bring about the desired transformation in the Tema West municipality.

As the Homowo celebrations commence in Nungua, Mr. Totimeh's visit to the chiefs was marked by a request from Nii Afotey Gbetse, a divisional chief at Baatsona Texpo, for assistance in acquiring a vehicle for the traditional authorities. Nii Gbetse also announced a ban on noisemaking, effective from Monday, June 30 to July 7, 2025, as part of the festival's observance.
