Anfoega SHS Unveils 60th Anniversary Plans with Ambitious Projects.

ANFOEGA: The Anfoega Senior High School (ANFOESEC), in collaboration with the Anfoega Old Students’ Association (ANFOSA), has officially launched its 60th Anniversary Celebrations, set for November 2025, with a focus on rallying support for significant educational projects aimed at elevating the institution to a Grade A level.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Anniversary Planning Committee, chaired by Madam Bertha Dzeble, has chosen the theme ‘Celebrating 60 Years: The Role of Stakeholders in Providing Quality Education for the 21st Century.’ This theme aligns with the vision of the Ghana Education Service and reflects the school’s commitment to transforming ANFOESEC into a top-tier educational institution. Two major projects have been earmarked for the anniversary: enhancing the school entrance with a new fence-wall and developing a standard sports complex, alongside the construction of a modern Home Economics and ICT Block. These projects are estimated to cost GHS4,000,000, and the committee is seeking
support from alumni and stakeholders to achieve this goal.

Mr. Albert Dodo, the Headmaster, highlighted the impact of the Free Senior High School policy on the school’s enrolment, which has surged to 1,664 for the 2023/2024 academic year. Despite challenges such as indiscipline, Mr. Dodo noted that discipline at ANFOESEC is under control. He praised the contributions of stakeholders and acknowledged the need for infrastructure expansion, given the conversion of existing classrooms to various administrative and educational offices.

Togbi Gidiyiboe, Chairman of the Board of Governors, encouraged students to excel academically and urged parents to support their children’s education. Dr. Peter Hayibor, a Legal Consultant, emphasized the importance of producing globally competitive graduates, while Mr. Francis Yao Agbemadi, Volta Regional Education Director, called for collaboration in implementing the new curriculum starting November 2024.

The event featured solidarity messages from various dignitaries and sho
wcased cultural performances by students. It also marked the prelude to the national launch in March 2025 and coincided with the 2024 Homecoming event, aimed at fostering networking among alumni, staff, and students.
